I had just turned six when the Chicago blizzard of 1967 hit. I remember how much fun it was playing in the mountain of snow that was my backyard. I have to admit, as a lifelong Chicagoan, I get real excited, well maybe euphoric is a better word, when I hear a blizzard is going to hit the city, and it was no different last week as I was actually counting down the hours to when the blizzard would it. And it came right on time 3pm the snow started. Yippee! The next morning while we were shoveling out and there was a mountain of snow in front of my daughter's house and while she was building an igloo, My six year old granddaughter shouted, "This is the best day ever"
I'm pretty sure she will grow up thinking blizzards are exciting and fun
